Maps remove Polk from districts of Soto, Steube
Polk County would sit within a single, newly created congressional district under proposed plans released Wednesday afternoon by a Florida Senate committee.
The Redistricting Committee revealed four proposed congressional maps, and all four put Polk County inside the new District 28. Florida currently has 27 congressional districts but is gaining another because of population growth, part of a once-a-decade process.
